President Donald Trump praised Liberian President Joseph Boakai’s English language during a meeting with several African leaders in the White House.
Trump told Boakai that he said “this good English” and asked him where he went.
The visitors smiled politely, but did not mention that English is the official language of Liberia.
Liberia, the oldest republic in Africa, was founded in 1822 by the release of American slaves, with the goal of relocating free blacks in Africa.
