Cardi B told the court that she did not attack security officers who were allegedly assaulting her.

Emani Ellis claims that during a 2018 dispute outside an obstetrician’s office in Los Angeles, the American rapper cut her cheek with 3-inch (7.5 cm) of nails and spitted, causing her to be “deeply traumatized.”

Cardi B told the civil trial Tuesday that Ms. Ellis went against her wishes when she booked a pregnancy without public knowledge.

The star said she faced Ms. Ellis but denied beating her. “I didn’t touch her,” the rapper said. “It’s like a verbal struggle, but there’s no physical battle at all.”

Bodak Yellow and I like rappers tell the jurors that when she walked out of the elevator, Ms. Ellis worked as a security guard in the building, and she told someone on the phone that she was there and followed her down the hallway.

The performer’s real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, who added that Ms. Ellis appeared to have recorded her on her phone, invaded her privacy and refused to “back up” before a face-to-face “verbal dispute” occurred.

She admitted to yelling at Ms. Ellis while telling her to “get out of my face”, adding: “We are actually screaming at each other.”

Her lawyer noted how the star “worried about the unborn baby” and also accused Ms. Ellis of “changing your story.”

Ms Ellis told the court earlier that when she met her, she said the rapper’s name was out of excitement, but did not tell anyone she was there and did not film her.

Ms. Ellis claimed that the rapper accused her of trying to spread news about her in the doctor’s office, then threw insults and threats and attacked her.

A plastic surgeon testified that he had treated Ms. Ellis’s “allergic” scars on her cheeks after first examining her in 2022, most likely caused by nails.

Ms. Ellis sued the star in 2020 for assault, assault and intentional emotional distress as well as negligence and false imprisonment.
