“The Sign of Authoritarianism”: The Truth of Trump’s War on Loyalists | Donald Trump

Scholars and former officials said Donald Trump launched a war on truth by firing senior officials who showed facts he thought were impossible, and his main loyalists in the executive body rely on major loyalists to enhance their policies and power by “rewriting the narrative of history.”

Critics say Trump’s preference for the fact that he rejected the dictatorial style suddenly fired the Bureau of Labor Statistics Commissioner in August, who alleged that there was no evidence that her latest report was “completely manipulated,” just hours after she released data that weakened his rosy economic overstatement.

The firing is a symbol of Trump’s growing struggle and policies with the people and policies that challenge the U.S. president’s conspiracy view of truth, such as his 2020 election loss to Joe Biden, which Trump once again blamed on “fraud” last fall.

From the Justice Department to the Environmental Protection Agency to other major agencies, Trump loyalists have pushed for false measures and taken radical steps to promote Trump’s policies, and the 2017 Trump advisers called “alternative facts.” In doing so, Trump and his top allies act in an authoritarian way by revising history, rejecting facts and accepting science widely.

“In what Trump said ‘rigging’ just means ‘not good for Trump’. To some extent, fire has a practical purpose, not reform [the] BLS, but send a message to all agents that post unflattering messages, no matter how they put their work in danger,” Shane added.

No wonder Trump announced on August 11 that he was nominating EJ Antoni, an economist at the right-wing Heritage Foundation, who has been a voice critic of BLS to replace her and boast that he “will ensure that the numbers released are honest and accurate.”

Scholars, former judiciary officials and even some conservatives say Trump and his loyalists’ attacks on truth have increased in dangerous ways during his second term as he avoids choosing those aides who have previously served as assistants targeting certain instincts against him to modify history and promote radical policies.

“The difference between Trump 1 and Trump 2 is that he has no guardrails right now… Now, Trump is surrounded by people who want to be like him. He has learned his lessons and he has no people around him say no to him,” said George Conway, the lawyer and chairman of the Law Rules, who ruled, including several former Republican department officials and officials of the Republican pedigrees, who were once the author of Trump, who were once Trump’s actions.

Conway added: “He has been trying to create his own facts. It’s not new. It’s part of Trump’s conspiracy mentality.”

Shane stressed: “Destroying independent sources of knowledge, flooding communication media, and rewriting historical narratives to fit ideology rather than facts are signs of authoritarianism.”

Shane’s views have been highlighted by multiple Trump and administration actions, including Trump’s counterfactual allegations that despite data released earlier this year showing that Washington’s crime “out of control” suggesting violent crime in Washington, D.C. is at a 30-year low.

Nevertheless, Trump held press conferences on both sides of several cabinet members to declare a “public safety emergency” and placed DC police under temporary federal control while deploying 800 National Guard units to the U.S. capital.

Elsewhere, EPA’s Trump loyalist relocated this month, canceling its major 2009 hazard discovery that constitutes an effort to combat climate change since the agency increasingly rejected widely accepted scientific facts since the Barack Obama administration.

Similarly, the Justice Department conducted a grand jury in August to investigate conspiracy charges by Trump’s director of the National Intelligence Agency Tulsi Gabbard, and Obama and some of his aides influenced Trump’s efforts to win Russia by starting his efforts toward Russia in 2016, engaging in Russia’s efforts to engage in “treason plots.”

In another battle against the facts, Health Secretary and vaccine skeptic Robert F Kennedy Jr. stepped up efforts to stop some scientists from seeing as vital weapons in combating vaccines that are seen as crucial weapons in battles against competitive periods and other diseases.

Critics say Trump’s move to undermine the facts has been escalating in dangerous ways.

“From government agencies to universities, the president is waving the Kardeger of federal funds, and the threat of presidential power to intimidate those whose data and ideas do not support him,” said Julian Zelizer, a political historian in Princeton.

Zelizer said: “Although many presidents criticize economic data [such as Herbert Hoover]this is a new level of hostility. Someone said that if he didn’t like it, that person was deleted. The key is to create fear so that others think twice before they can speak out what is harmful to the government. ”

Shane of New York University warned that Trump’s administration allies had mimicked his actions.

“Trump’s senior officials, many of whom lack the experience, judgment, intelligence and temperament to do their job properly, know Trump’s script and are determined to stay where they are… Everyone around Trump saw him paying very little for his expression. They follow the boss.”

Leaders of major institutions followed Trump’s script of attacks and undermined climate change science and alternative fuels with regulatory actions and widely accepted science.

The EPA, as well as the Interior Department and the energy sector, have stepped up efforts to expand throttle spending and regulations for wind and solar energy; Trump attacked green energy, part of his conspiracy view that climate change is a “scam” while actively promoting his fossil fuel agenda to “drill, baby, drill.”

“The Trump team has launched an all-governmental attack on wind and solar,” said Michael Gerrard, who runs the Sabin Climate Change Law Center at Columbia University.

“When Obama’s EPA released a dangerous discovery in 2009, there was a lot of scientific evidence to back it up. There are now 10 tons. There are a few ounces of ounces on the other hand, but Trump’s EPA grabbed the ounces to eliminate our most powerful legal tool to combat climate change.

“The EPA, the energy and internal sectors, and even the Federal Aviation Administration use all the tools available and constitute some new tools to curb these clean energy sources.”

Other experts and scientists were also shocked that Kennedy had stepped up efforts to stop the vaccine he had long had no real evidence for dangerous ones.

Earlier this month, Kennedy announced in a statement that it had terminated 22 projects worth $500 million to develop mRNA technology in vaccines used to combat respiratory viruses such as Covid and Flu.

In response to Kennedy’s move, Trump told reporters that “we are dealing with other things” and said the administration is now focusing on “finding other questions, other diseases and other answers to illnesses.”

Trump, the former co-roller vaccine champion, seems to have overlooked some of Kennedy’s recent measures, criticized by health experts. In July, Kennedy suddenly opened a 17-member CDC team that recommended vaccines and replaced some known vaccine skeptics with a smaller committee.

Additionally, Kennedy refused to provide strong support for vaccination, although the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported 1,356 measles cases this month, the highest annual total since 2000, when the United States announced the elimination of measles.

Former prosecutors say on the legal front that truth and facts are being attacked by the Justice Department, and the Justice Department is increasingly not showing solid evidence of misconduct to investigate Trump’s declared enemies, such as former FBI director James Comey and former CIA director John Brennan.

Trump accused Obama of “treason” in July without any basis in his administration’s inquiry of Russian influence to help Trump win in 2016. The move, despite multiple reports, including one from a bipartisan Senate intelligence panel, concluded that Moscow launched a driving force to promote Trump.

Critics say Trump’s comments said after Gabbard released confidential material that did not support his allegations. However, Attorney General Pam Bondi then approved a grand jury to investigate the charges as requested by Gabbard.

Some legal scholars have seen a pattern of earlier Trump strategy to falsify facts and modify history and warn the Justice Department of clear politicization under Trump and Bundy. “Announcement of a grand jury investigation into Obama and Biden officials,” said Daniel Richman, a professor of law and former French prosecutor.
