Trump administrator demands court releases Jeffrey Epstein grand jury document

The U.S. Justice Department has asked a judge to rule on material related to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein after strongly criticizing the Trump administration’s handling of the case.

The request involved a report card from a grand jury in the government’s 2019 sex trafficking case against Epstein, which is usually kept confidential and protected by law.

The court filing was a lawsuit against Rupert Murdoch, the parent company of the Wall Street Journal, and two journalists, who claimed he wrote “clumsy” personal notes to Epstein in 2003.

Trump said the note reported that he had sent him to Epstein’s 50th birthday, which was “fake.”

Thursday, He ordered Attorney General Pam Bondi Seeking to release documents related to Epstein’s secret grand jury testimony.

The Justice Department formally filed a request to a New York judge, arguing that the material related to the case – he was charged with trafficking dozens of girls under the age of 14 – was “qualified in the public interest”.

The department also requested disclosures from his colleague Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of a child sex trafficking plot.

A large jury – a panel of people who have examined whether there is enough evidence to accuse the crime of a person who can hear news about confidential informants and those who are protected for a safe identity. Materials in grand juries are usually kept confidential by law, but judges decide that the public interest outweighs this need for legal protection in a case, which can undo the document.

Either way, it is unclear when or whether the documents will be released, or whether they contain many details of Trump supporters.

Also on Friday, Trump filed a $10 billion (£7.5 billion) lawsuit in Miami, filing a lawsuit against Dow Jones, News Corp and conservative media tycoon Rupert Murdoch.

He claimed the Wall Street Journal slandered him in an article that said he sent a “bawdy” birthday greeting with Trump’s name to Epstein before the late financier was charged with a sexual crime.

“We just filed a strong lawsuit against litigation for participating in the publication of false, malicious, slanderous, false news’s ‘useless “rag” (i.e., the Wall Street Journal’s ‘fiction, malicious, defamatory news’ articles.”

He added: “I hope Rupert and his ‘friends’ look forward to the many hours of testimony and testimony that must be provided in this situation.”

He said the newspaper and Murdoch (Murdoch) – with whom Trump had been in a decades-up and down relationship – were warned that they would be prosecuted if they printed the article.

Murdoch, who joined Trump on Sunday in the FIFA World Cup, built a media empire that some believe helped push the president into the White House.

According to the Wall Street Journal, a letter with Trump’s name “contains several lines of typing text, made up of the outline of a naked woman, which seems to have been hand-painted with heavy markers.”

“Inside the silhouette of a naked woman is a typographical account of a fictional dialogue between Trump and Epstein, written in third person,” the report said.

It reportedly contains a joke quote, “Never Aging,” and ends with these words: “A friend is a wonderful thing. Happy birthday – May every day be another wonderful secret.”

Trump denied writing after his article published on Thursday, saying: “These are not my words, not my way of speaking. And, I don’t draw pictures.”

Friday’s development came during a turbulent week for the president as his most loyal supporters demanded greater transparency and public disclosure in the Epstein case.

Some Trump loyalists have even called on Attorney General Bondi to revoke the revocation course of certain documents related to Epstein.

Republican Sheriff Chad Bianco, who runs for California Governor, told BBC News that Trump’s handling of Epstein’s archives was “my expectations are not mine” and his “millions” followers were disappointed.

“We feel like we are being rejected like stupid kids.”

Meanwhile, members of Congress are pushing for the passage of a “discharge petition” that will force Bundy to release a wide range of materials related to Epstein from the Justice Department.

The effort brings together some of the most fierce rivals in Congress, including Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene and Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who were both signed as supporters.
