Trump administrators and court orders limit ICE enforcement in Los Angeles

The Trump administration also said the court gave them only two working days in response to hundreds of pages of findings.

“It is necessary here to be immediate relief, not only because of the extent of the court’s legal error, but also because of their actual consequences over the separation of power and the sovereign privilege of the government,” the document reads. “Local court judges cannot unilaterally’reorganize federal immigration enforcement actions and usurp the normal judicial oversight of the institutions and properly supervised by the administration.”

Frimpong chaired a hearing on Thursday, and she considered approving the request, which would have a significant impact on immigration enforcement Californiathe state has become the focus of President Donald Trump’s active deportation plan.

The judge heard allegations of the institution’s violation of constitutional rights during immigration arrests and whether the TRO was granted against ICE.

Frimpong said at a hearing Thursday that she tends to award TRO Friday.

“I think it is important for the court to not assume other legal burdens law enforcement activity,” the judge said.

The case was originally filed in June as a regular petition for three detainees but has angered a heavy lawsuit challenging the way ICE works.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass praised the federal court for deciding to issue a temporary restraining order, halting what she called “unconstitutional and reckless raids under the Trump administration.”

She described federal actions as aggressive and harmful and reiterated Los Angeles’ commitment to protecting its residents’ rights.

Immigration rights organizations and local governments, including Los AngelesSanta Monica, Culver and West Hollywood, all intervened in the case, and the Democratic-led states have filed amicus summary to support them.

The plaintiff claimed in court documents that the ice “no sales” arrested people with “brown skin” at home, at home, car washing, farm, etc. The attorney wrote that authorities arrested the arrests without “reasonable suspicion” and sometimes mistakenly arrested U.S. citizens in the process, all in violation of the Fourth Amendment.

The plaintiff argued that the Trump administration provided ICE with unrealistic quotas of 3,000 people a day, causing officials to feel pressured past legal requirements to fulfill these numbers.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration is filing allegations and denying misconduct.
