Deputy Director of the FBI Dan Bongino According to multiple sources, he was outraged at the Justice Department’s review of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking case archives during a closed-door White House meeting this week.

Bungino raised his voice in a discussion with White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, two sources near the Justice Department’s leadership. Another source said Bongino also exchanged enthusiastic words with attorney Pam Bondi during the meeting, and the entire ordeal made him consider resigning from the FBI.

Another person in the meeting disputed Bongino’s feature of yelling at Wells or Bondy while sitting down.

However, the person agreed that Bongino was “irritated”. Sources said the deputy director was angry at the launch of Epstein’s memorandum and his belief that Bondy “had a lack of transparency from the beginning.” The memorandum, a joint product of the Justice Department and the FBI, said the two agencies had no further information to share with the public about the Epstein case, a revelation that sparked the outrage of Margo Base. The memo first appeared in Axios on the weekend, and then DOJ and the FBI published it on Monday.

When asked about Bongino’s statement yelling at Wells, a White House official said it was “100% fake.” Wells, a Florida politics veteran, led the Trump campaign, and the president described her as “universal admiration.”

The memorandum noted that the Justice Department and the FBI reviewed Epstein’s archives and found no information that could lead to allegations against the newcomer.

Although Bongino is reportedly reported to have broken with leadership in terms of memorandum and trade-offs, people familiar with the matter say FBI Director Kash Patel and Bondi are still in exchange for talks as of Friday, and Patel is happy with his job.

“Conspiracy theory is not true,” Patel tweeted Saturday afternoon. “It is an honor to serve US President @realdonaldtrump – I will continue to do so as long as he calls on me.”

A spokesperson for the Justice Department and a spokesperson for the FBI did not respond to a request for comment.

Bongino, a former Secret Service agent with no FBI experience, hosted a popular podcast, and then Trump tapped him to take second place in the agency. In his show, Bongino repeatedly alerted Epstein’s “customer list” and said “there is a reason to hide it” and that its release will be “the world of rock politics.”

But in a memo released Monday, the FBI and the Justice Department said they found no list.

Bongino, Bondi and Patel all face a counterattack from Epstein’s archives in supporters’ factions, who say they refused on repeated oaths to open up details of the Epstein case.

Epstein, a financier who is known to interact with wealthy, well-known figures, was indicted in 2019 for accusing him of recruiting dozens of women, including minors under the age of 14, and having sex with them or sexually abused them. His colleague Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison for conspiring to abuse minors. She has a call.

The U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI said in their memo that much of the non-public information related to the Epstein case was in a seal ordered by a court or contained child pornography and private information about the victim.

Before joining the bureau, both Patel and Bongino were advanced theories that the government had hidden information about the case, including a “list” of supposed unexplored predators.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement on X that DOJ and FBI leaders, including Bongino, were locked during the compilation and release of the memo. Blanche said the idea of “there is any daylight” between the FBI and the Justice Department is “apparently wrong”.

Bongino didn’t go to work Friday because he was very frustrated by the consequences of the Epstein memo, sources said. Some say Bongino didn’t expect his supporters to be bounced back.
