American International and two-time World Cup champion Tobin Heath announced her retirement Thursday, a few years after she was away from the sport due to injuries, and many of her fans were disappointed that they hoped she would win the championship again one day.

Heath NWSL Portland Thorns won twice.

“I think I also want to climb a few mountains in football, even though I’m really grateful for my career,” the 37-year-old striker said in her recard podcast.

“I’ve always had problems’ So, are you back?” A little like, writing on the wall. ”

Heath played for OL Reign for the last time and underwent a late-season knee surgery in September 2022 after an injury.

She is one of the most decorated figures in the successful American football program in the United States, and she was named the Football Female Athlete of the Year in 2016 and received 181 blocks with the national team in her career.

“I’ve never played famous or made people care about me,” Heath said. “I just played because I liked it.”
