El Salvador President Nayib Bukele released a video highlight reel showing Kilmar Abrego Garcia clearly thriving during her imprisonment to refute Immigrant Claims he was tortured in custody.

The video appears to contradict Abrego Garcia’s claims in legal documents that he was severely beaten and deprived of sleep and psychological torture while detained in the country’s terrorist incarceration center or Cecot, a notorious anti-terrorism prison.
According to court documents, Abrego Garcia’s physical condition deteriorated rapidly after arriving there, and in two weeks he lost about 31 pounds.

But Buckley opposed the claims Thursday, claiming that he actually put his weight down and released video evidence to refute the torture claim.
The video shows Abrego Garcia seems to have good spirits, playing football and soccer, exercising with prisoners, gardening and relaxing while watching widescreen TV in his cell, and other leisurely activities.
“Why does he look so good in every photo if he is tortured, sleep deprivation and hunger?” Buckler wrote on X. “Why did he have to gain weight? Why didn’t he have any bruises, or even dark circles?”

“The man was not tortured and didn’t lose weight. In fact, the photos showed him gaining weight during his detention. There were a lot of videos on different days, including his meeting with Senator Van Hollen, who himself confirmed that the man seemed good.”
Bucker continues to tear down mainstream media because they seem to believe in these claims.

Human rights groups have also documented torture and deterioration, with hundreds of people dying in El Salvador prisons, according to the Associated Press.

Abrego Garcia’s lawyer claimed that when he arrived, he was immediately tied to his cell by prison guards who kicked him with boots and beat him with a wooden baton along the way, leaving visible bumps and bruises on his body.
He and the other detainees in the cell sleep on metal mattresses, getting minimal food and satisfaction. According to the documents, they were also forced to kneel for about nine hours, from 9 a.m. to 6 a.m., “guards defeated the tired men in the strike.”
They claimed that he was psychologically tortured and threatened with violence during his time at Cecot, and the prison guards repeatedly told him that they would transfer him to prison cells of other violent gang members, who promised that he would “tear” him apart.
