Donald Trump calls Jeffrey Epstein’s story a “death issue.” But in a week’s new revelation, Epstein’s crime and its consequences continue to haunt many of his former colleagues.
The so-called birthday bill, released on Monday, was released in 2003 and has provided new ammunition to Trump’s critics, which will also make his base and the wider public speak out for more details.
This may not be known as a smoking gun, an undeniable link to misconduct that undermines careers or enhances criminal investigations. But it is concrete, disturbing evidence of the close relationship between the late financier and convicted sex offender with the rich and powerful sex offenders.
That alone makes it an explosive and engaging story – a story that is attracting public attention in ways that a typical political story doesn’t.

There is no doubt that while there is no suggestion for Trump to commit criminal wrongdoing, Epstein Saga’s political consequences for the president are very real.
He is easily hurt on this issue. His attempt to deflect or fire it failed.
He sometimes slammed their attention to the story at his base – until last year, he attracted people’s interest.
How Birthday Books Change Stories
Although Epstein’s then-girlfriend and co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell’s 2003 book is filled with dozens of personal notes, it is said to be a book from Trump, a book from Trump, which transforms it from a tragic story of sexual trafficking and exploitation into part of a national party.
Since the Wall Street Journals reported in July, the public has known the details of the notes – the conversation between Trump and Epstein – that are full of ball and double entry.
Trump initially responded with denials of general denials, protests against the goal of a “scam” and protests against the libel lawsuit, in which his lawyers suspected the existence of the note.

With conservatives rallying over Trump’s defense, the president appears to have eased attention from his political base, which is divided on the White House’s handling of Epstein’s archives.
Political analysts are beginning to wonder if this is the latest in potential scandal and controversy for the president to shruggle.
But there is a clear risk for Trump’s strategy – the notes will be made public. The anal description of weird texts and drawings on the financial newspaper page is very different from the description of the actual object, which depicts the breasts of a small female and a Trump-like signature that can hint at the pubic hair.
The president’s advisers and supporters continue to question the authenticity of the bill, but it is no longer possible to deny its existence.

“The president did not write the letter, he did not sign it, which is why the president’s external legal team is filing a lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Tuesday.
But in a book filled with notes and messages to Epstein, Trump seems to be alone in denying the authenticity of his alleged contribution.
Levitt is very careful not to call the book itself a scam.
Every repositioned defense, every recalibrated explanation has the potential to give Trump a reputation among his supporters, as he has not been trapped in the typical political game and escape.
A fragment of the larger mosaic
However, the White House is more concerned than the specific revelation of paper money, which is the way that birthday books will attract more broad interest and attention to the Epstein case.
Trump’s notes are allegedly just a piece of the bigger mosaic of Epstein’s life, a picture of a man with friends and colleagues in the highest places, including some of whom feel humorous with his reputation for sexual exploitation.
Less than a week after a group of Epstein’s victims and their families gathered on the steps of the Capitol and talked about the pain and emotional trauma they suffered, the birthday book provides vivid evidence that many in Epstein’s circle seem to be indifferent to Epstein’s escape.

A note from Florida real estate investors, including photos of Epstein appearing to be from Trump’s large novelty check. The ensuing text joke says Epstein sold Trump a “completely depreciated” woman for $22,500 – using financial terms to use items that reduce value through the use of items.
Other notes include lustful drawings, nude photos, and in one example images of animals having sex.
There is information from politicians, lawyers and business leaders. Former President Bill Clinton mentioned Epstein’s “childhood curiosity” and his desire to “make a difference.”
Lord Peter Mandelson was the British ambassador to the United States, which included photos of tropical locations and called Epstein “my best friend.”
Clinton’s office has not responded to a request for comment for BBC, although he had previously said he was not aware of Epstein’s crimes.
A official spokesman for Lord Mandelson told the BBC that he had “had long been aware that he regretted being introduced to Epstein”.

Some Republicans point out that the way Democrats focus almost exclusively on Trump is evidence that their anger claims are driven by a desire for political superiority.
For leftists, this may be hard to deny.
For example, Democrats who investigated the Epstein case quickly released Trump’s birthday page, which Epstein Estate offers to them.
Expect any other details related to the president will receive a similarly swift approach to becoming public opinion.
A bigger story than the president
However, this story is already bigger than the president, and an interest in Epstein’s story (one of sex, crime and power) will attract attention regardless of the political motivations of some moving forward.
If Trump’s critics perceive the opportunity, not all Trump’s allies are helping.
Last week, House Speaker Mike Johnson suggested Trump work with the initial federal investigation into Epstein, a theory that Epstein himself floated in interviews with journalist Michael Wolff in 2016 and 2017.
Republican Johnson later backed off his comments, but before raising a round of questions about Trump’s illegal behavior about Epstein and when he knew when.

After publishing more Epstein documents, including witness statements, financial records and evidence to conduct an enforcement search on Epstein’s property, there is still a lot that the public can learn.
Two members of Congress, Thomas Massie, a Republican of Kentucky, and Ro Khanna, a California Democrat, are currently collecting signatures to force the House vote to openly release the rest of the Epstein archives – a move that the White House strongly opposes.
The Epstein legend seems to be the old news early this year, and it is approaching a critical mass of self-sustaining that it will be hard for anyone to curb anyone.
Although the president is not the core focus, and there is no evidence that his long-term friendship with Epstein (ends after the fall in 2004), coupled with his position at the pinnacle of American political power, he will make him a core participant in the play as long as it continues to unfold.
