The founder of one California-based on pornography empire Recruiting women with fake modeling offers Sentenced 27 years in federal prison on Monday Sex trafficking.
Michael James Pratt pleaded guilty in federal court in June Santiago. Federal prosecutors said Pratt and his co-defendants used force, fraud and coercion to recruit hundreds of women, many of whom were in their adult videos.
this Santiago The Union-Tribune reported that U.S. District Court Judge Janis Sammartino sentenced Pratt to Pratt to force, fraud or coercion of sexual trafficking, and one count of conspiracy to commit the same crime.
Pratt was arrested in Madrid in 2022, three years after facing allegations of sex trafficking.
He is a New Zealand native who founded the now lost GirlsDoporn website in San Diego. In 2019, he and others were charged with gender crimes in San Diego, after 22 women were attacked, who claimed they were hurt by fraud and breach of contract.
The women said they were coated with alcohol and marijuana before signing the contract and they were not allowed to read. Some say they were sexually assaulted and reluctantly locked up in a hotel room before the filming was over.
Judges in 2020 find women and $12.7 million in verdict was distributed Against Pratt, Matthew Isaac Wolfe, adult producer and performer Ruben Andre Garcia.
Wolfe, who handled the website’s daily operations, finance, marketing and filming, pleaded guilty in 2022 to one count of federal conspiracy to engage in sexual trafficking. He was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison.
Other co-defendants also pleaded guilty. Garcia was sentenced to 20 years in prison and photographer Cameraman Theodore Gyi was sentenced to four years in prison.
