Colorado Capitol replaces controversial portraits after facing a months of rebound President Donald Trumphe claimed it was “intentionally distorted” by the artist.

Despite the last year’s portraits unfolding for six years, Trump went to social media to criticize art last spring, saying the board “has must have lost her talent as she gets older” and “deliberately distorted” his image. Colorado Springs artists denied this claim.
Although the board’s paintings portray a much younger Trump, the latest display by Arizona artist Vanessa Horabuena reflects Trump’s strong official presidential photo.

Colorado takes Trump paintings off at state capitol
“Thanks to talented artist Vanessa Horabuena and the incredible people Colorado,” Trump said on the Society of Truth on Tuesday.
According to her website, Horabuena is a “Christian worship artist” who makes several other descriptions of Trump as well as Abraham Lincoln, Mount Rushmore and Jesus Christ. She did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
Boardman told Fox News Digital that she had no comments on the painting.

The advisory committee decided on Thursday that the committee would install the Horabuena portrait as a temporary display after it was in charge of the art display at the Capitol.
“The Capitol Building Advisory Committee has reached an agreement at the committee meeting on June 26, 2025 to temporarily display the portrait of this donated and will consider handling a full collection of portraits of the president at a future meeting,” the committee told Fox News Digital Digital. “The new portrait is installed in the third floor gallery of the Colorado Capitol.”
Lois Court, a former state legislator who chairs the committee, told the Associated Press that installing donated artwork is the right move.
“There is a blank on the wall,” the court said. “It seems inappropriate. We know White House We have sent this alternative and it makes sense to bring it up. ”

The board portrait was removed from the wall of the presidential gallery in the Capitol after Democrats (who controlled the legislature) agreed to demolish it at the request of local Republican leaders, according to the committee.

“No one likes their bad photos or paintings, but the one at the Colorado Capitol of the State Legislature, along with all the other presidents, purposefully distorts a level even if I might have never seen it,” Trump said in March. “The artist did it, too.” President Obamahe looks great, but one of me is indeed the worst. As she gets older, she must have lost her talent. ”
