An American who died in a fatal murder in Lisbon was identified as Heather Hall, the mother of two and a university teacher, who is visiting Portugal in South Carolina, USA.

Her family said Ms. Hall “died what she did best – living fully, boldly, and full of hearts.”

Ms. Hall, the first generation of college graduates, returned to her alma mater as a teacher, and she was passionate about “creating inclusive spaces for children and people with disabilities.”

Her family said she served on the Disability Commission in Charleston and was a “relative and relentless advocate of fairness, representation and belonging”, describing her as someone who has established a “deep and deep connection” with her friends, with whom she felt “really seen and cherished.”

Her family said her greatest achievement was her two children.

“She believes in them with all her heart and just wants them to live their lives as a full life,” her family said.

She is a Fulbright scholar in Ghana and loves to travel – including traveling abroad with Italian students and plans to travel to Iceland and Belize.

The city’s Quwai Railways – Glória, Lavra, Bica and Graça – are a popular tourist destination due to the bright yellow tram-like vehicle snakes passing through hilly streets.

Portuguese officials investigated a fatal proposed crash in Lisbon on Wednesday, saying a cable along the railway route was broken but the rest of the agencies were functioning properly.

Investigators added that the brake attempted to apply an emergency brake but failed to prevent derailment.

When the upstream of Gloria crashed, 16 people died and about 20 were injured.

Five of the killed were Portuguese, three British, two Koreans, two Canadians, one American, one Ukrainian, one Swiss and one French nation, police said.
