Sanders, 84, and Mamdani, 33, marched side by side during the Labor Day parade in Manhattan earlier this week, while holding the “Unity” flag. Governor Kathy Hochul, a fellow Democratic Party, also attended the meeting.
Mamdani Already voted As a democratic socialist, focus on affordability. Councillors promised free buses and state-run grocery stores that were levied higher taxes by the wealthy. He limits grassroots donations to $8 million.
Sanders, who grew up in Brooklyn, used his “fighting oligarch” journey to boost the voices of young progressives like Mamdani and Ocasio-Cortez. Both are popular among the Democratic left wing of the New York Democratic Party.

This photo also triggered a counterattack. One user said, “Three million are talking about socialism.” Another joked, “The last thing your money saw before you died.” Others wrote, “Three communists walked into a bar and they asked workers to pay for everything.”
Mamdani is expected to appear on stage with Sanders, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Leonard and Claire Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College.
