Mayor of New York City, Eric AdamsHe will remain in the highly anticipated mayoral contest for the fall, just days after reports that Donald Trump encouraged him to drop out to help independent candidate Andrew Cuomo Zohran Mamdani.
“I’m running for re-election,” Adams confirmed to reporters at a press conference outside Mayor Gracey’s residence.
“Whatever I say publicly over and over again, there’s so much speculation, communication, announcement of what I’m doing. So I want to be with you. I’m in this game, and I’m the only one who can beat Mamdani,” Adams said.
Announcement is US President – New York City has been reportedly pushing Adams, who voted in unit numbers, to abandon his reelection campaign. Trump reportedly even offered a post to a potential ambassador post in Saudi Arabia to convince him to drop out of school.
Adams deny “I never got a job,” the claims said Thursday. Adams received no questions from reporters on Friday’s new campaign court.
He Pointing at the mayor’s polo shirt and saying he intends to “in another four years.” He also insulted his competitors because he was not a “darling” like him and his constituents.
Sources told ABC News Trump’s team has been hearing news about New York City Republican donors whose aides are involved in New York City mayoral campaign, citing concerns MamdaniHas taken a lead in polls to win the November election.
There is a suggestion that Cuomo can consolidate enough support to challenge Mamdani if Adams (won the 2021 race to become the mayor of one of the largest cities in the Democratic Party), while Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa will quit. The New York Times reported that the Trump administration has already negotiated to get a job for their Republican Sliwa to get him out of the game.
Mamdani’s team issued a statement Friday: “Zohran’s campaign to serve New York, not a bid by an authoritarian president and his billionaire friends.
“The city hall should belong to the people – that’s what our city deserves and what Zoran’s campaign is all about.”
