U.S. immigration authorities attacked a massive modern manufacturing site in Georgia, resulting in more than 450 arrests, according to an agency involved in the operation.
The 3,000 acres of electric vehicles made by South Korean automakers have been in operation for a year.
The Department of Homeland Security told BBC’s U.S. partner CBS News that the agents charged “illegal employment practices and other serious federal crimes” and executed a search warrant.
South Korean nationals are among the detained, calling it “unfair tort.”

It is not clear how many Koreans are being detained.
“During the U.S. law enforcement action, economic activities of South Korean investment companies and the rights and interests of South Korean citizens have to be violated fairly.”
The ministry added that it is sending diplomats to the scene.
“In Seoul, we have also conveyed our concerns and regrets in South Korea through the U.S. Embassy and urged them to be very cautious to ensure that the legitimate rights and interests of South Korean citizens are not violated.”
The state’s Governor, Republican Brian Kemp, touted Hyundai’s new electric vehicle operation as the largest economic development project in the state’s history, employing 1,200 employees.
Searches by federal agencies have also closed the construction of adjacent battery plants, CBS News reported.
President Trump is running for his second term in office, behind the promise of mass deportation of undocumented immigrants, although he said the priorities are those who commit crimes.
