First on Fox: this Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revealed that illegal immigrants from Pakistan served in the U.S. military, had a wide history of criminal activities and were paired with “About His Military Service.”
The Department of Homeland Security said Muhammad Zahid Chaudhry first entered the U.S. on a B-2 visa in 1998, after deliberately ignoring the criminal history related to the Australian conviction to steal goods, forge passports and financial misconduct. DHS told Fox News Numbers that Choudhury also claimed he had been deployed to Iraq Ministry of National Defense Records show that he has never actually deployed it.
An official from the Department of Defense told Fox News that illegal immigrants cannot serve in the military and that individuals must have some form of legal status to serve. Green card holders (permanent legal residents) are able to join U.S. military branches.

Immigration officials U.S. Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS) identified Chaudhry’s forgery and neglect of criminal history as justification for his removal in 2008, but Pakistanis have been repeatedly attracted by the decision for about 17 years.

Chaudhry charges $449,459.82 in taxpayer dollars, according to an Inspector General Report obtained by Fox News Digital from 2021 Department of Veterans Affairs The Veterans Welfare Administration (VBA) currently owes the federal government $81,080 to reduce VBA mortgages.
Sources from the Department of Homeland Security told Fox that Chaudhry entered the country with a B-2 tourist visa and then obtained a green card. Officials found he had previously lying to immigration officials about his crimes, and the green card was revoked – making him an illegal immigrant in the United States
Chaudhry was detained by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after being arrested on August 21, 2025 in Tukwila, Washington. He was placed in dismissal process when the immigration judge ruled that he violated federal immigration laws.
After that, protests broke out in Seattle, with hundreds of demonstrators standing outside the ice detention center demanding the release of Choudhury last week.

Chaudhry’s wife Melissa did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital, who lost the U.S. Congress in Washington’s Ninth District in the Democratic primary in 2024.
