But the first lady warned: “As leaders and parents, we must manage the growth of AI responsibly.”

“At this primitive stage, it is our responsibility to treat AI as our own children, but to be authorized, but under the guidance of surveillance,” the first lady said. “We live in strange moments and we have the responsibility to prepare children in America.”

The conference is expected to be addressed by the First Lady and Task Force members, as well as private sector leaders who have committed to supporting AI education nationwide.

Members of the task force include Michael Kratsios, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; Brooke Rollins, secretary of agriculture; Linda McMahon, secretary of education; Chris Wright, secretary of energy; Lori Chavez-Deremer, secretary of labor; and special advisers to the White House AI and Crypto Czar David Sacks.

First Lady’s president and assistant chief of staff, Hayley Harrison, will also be part of the president and deputy national security adviser Robert Gabriel Jr. and assistant to domestic policy president Vince Haley.
