Situation around DePaul University football players Chase StegallDeath has been revealed.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office listed Stegall’s cause of death as “sudden epilepsy death.” The mode of death is classified as “natural”. He is 20 years old this year.
Stegall is FDead in his dormitory June 2 on DePaul’s campus.
The son of a former professional football player Milt StegallChase played 16 of DePaul’s 17 games in his sophomore season in 2024 and scored a goal against Drake in September of that year.

Milt, 55, wrote through X: “Every tribute, every call, every message, every message, every post or sign, has wrapped my family and my comfort in comfort that helps us through these difficult times.” Milt wrote: “You show us our love in the best way. It reminds us of this family that goes deeper than football.”
Milt concluded: “Please keep giving us a prayer. We feel them. I hope to see you again soon.”

Chase wrote in February One article Detailed about the recent health panic.
“I can’t tell you what happened,” Chase wrote. “What I know is that I had a seizure. All I remember is just waking up in the hospital. But when I opened my eyes, there was my football coach, Mark Plotkin, standing next to me. He left the practice and came to the hospital to see what I was doing. He stayed with me for a few hours.”
He continued: “My teammates and friends kept checking me up too. They helped me to go to the hospital and texted me to make sure I did a good job. Their good intentions, their care, were with me.”
This experience helped chase realise that DePaul was “the right place for me.”
“My journey of student-athletes at Depaul was full of ups and downs, but through all this, I found a supportive community that cared about me,” he wrote. “From waking up in the hospital with my coach to scoring my first college goal, I experienced the highs and lows of participating in the sport. This helped me learn the value of resilience, dedication and representation.
Chase concluded: “The DePaul community means everything to me and reminds me every day that I realize my dreams. I can’t wait to see what’s next.”
