Todd Chrisley Recorded emotional video for my daughter Savannah Chrisley Before reporting to the prison in January 2023.
“Savannah, I don’t even know where to start this video because I don’t think we’ve really said it between us,” Todd, 56, said as he held back his tears. “But I do want to give you a video.”
The clip was recorded 14 hours ago when Todd reported to the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida – shown during the premiere of Lifetime’s new documentary Chrisley: Back to realitythis is the first to air on Monday, September 1st.
He concluded, “No father is more proud of your daughter than I am, I’m sorry.” “I am really.”
A Lifelong documentary premiered nearly four months later in Todd and his wife Julie Chrisleyyes Released from prison after being pardoned go through President Donald Trump. The couple was sentenced to 28 months in jail after being convicted of tax evasion, banking and wire fraud charges in 2022 (they continue to remain innocent.)
The premiere series features 28-year-old Savannah and her brothers Chase Chrisley and Grayson Chrisley. Todd’s mom, Faye ChrisleyJulie’s parents, Harvey and Pam Hughesalso appears. (Todd and Julie were shown by phone calls from prison)
“It was really hard to just see them say goodbye,” Savannah recalls. “I will never forget him to open the door and watch him walk away.”
Chase, 29, compared his parents’ prison stay with “death” in his family. He added: “It was so devastating without my parents.”
“If both your parents go to prison and don’t let you grow up, then nothing will be there,” Grayson, 19, added.
Todd and Julie are still in jail on the premiere episode, Savannah tells the camera that her “thought number one” is her “first mind”, explaining that “waiting” is the hardest part.

Elsewhere in the episode, viewers see Grayson return home from the University of Alabama after first grade. He revealed to the camera that Julie was “frustrated” by her prison stay because of “all the things that disappeared” in his life.
Grayson revealed that he decided to quit playing baseball because Julie went to prison.
“Baseball is my whole life. That’s what I’ve done every week since I was 5. I’ve never played a game that my mom didn’t play,” he said. “When they were in Atlanta, I was in Atlanta. My mom was in court and played in Atlanta. When I couldn’t do that, I thought, I thought, ‘I really don’t want to play anymore.'”
Grayson also shared that Julie left him a plush bear with her “sound recording”. However, he didn’t play it on the camera.
“I don’t want to listen, I think that’s my last personal thing,” he said. “We give the camera everything, and that’s the thing I want. It’s the thing that the camera can’t get.”
Chrisleys: Back to Reality The two-night premiere continues on Monday, September 1 and Tuesday, September 2, with two hours of episodes airing in a lifetime at 8 p.m. ET. The next week, two episodes will be aired back to back on September 9. The show’s finale is scheduled to premiere on September 16.
