The panel voted to decide on a symbolic resolution calling for an arms embargo on Israel and a moratorium on U.S. military aid, which has long been the top U.S. ally in the Middle East.
Martin introduces and supports a separate resolution to demand a ceasefire Israel and Hamasin addition to unrestricted access to humanitarian assistance from Gaza civilians, the group adopted unanimously.

“I’m worried that we don’t have the courage to lose our future as a Democrat on this issue,” Dannenberg stressed.

The Chairman added: “We need to keep working hard. We have to find a way forward and we have to stay united.”
The move accepted by the Commission by Martin may take some time, but the party remains divided on the issue.

The showdown on the resolution was due to the Democratic support for Israel that had been almost unshakable, shattered in the bloodshed.
