A two-week deadline was set for the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of California, San Francisco, University of California, Medical School. The House is investigating how the university responds to reports that Jews “experienced hostility and fear” on campus.

Walberg’s letter requires the university to exchange “all documents and communications” since September 1, 2021, which is related to reports or complaints of anti-Semitism. It requires them to include “any communication between administrators or employees regarding complaints.”

“The committee has realized that Jewish students, faculty and patients have been experiencing hostility and fear at the university and has not yet proved that the university has meaningfully responded and mitigated the issue,” Wahlberg asserted in the letter.

The administration said earlier this month that it had sought $1 billion from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to address discrimination and anti-Semitism allegations in exchange for restoration of federal funds.

The proposed agreement was sent to the school on August 8, requiring the UCLA to pay $1 billion in multiple installments to the federal government and established a $172 million claim fund for alleged violations of Chapter VII of the Civil Rights Act, which prohibits the use of race, color, religion, gender, gender, or state based on race, color, religion, gender, or state.

In a statement provided to Fox News Digital President James Milliken said the university system has received the document and is reviewing it.

“Earlier this week, we proposed a good-will dialogue with the (judicial) department to protect the university and its key research missions,” Millican said at the time. “As a public university, we are the stewards of taxpayer resources, payments of this scale will completely destroy the largest public university system in our country and cause great harm to our students and all Californians.”
