According to earlier reports, all Iranian missiles targeting Qatar’s massive base were intercepted, with no casualties or damage from the United States.
However, US media reports said that Iranian officials said such a salvo was not the end of its national response.
President Donald Trump warned in a speech to the United States on Saturday night that any Iran attack on American interests would have overwhelming answers. He promised that more targets could be hit by the U.S. military.
For more than 24 hours, the world is waiting to see what Iran will do. Once Iran takes action, his attention returns to the U.S. president, and a few hours later he made his comments.
Trump posted on his social media website: “Iran has officially responded to our elimination of nuclear facilities, our nuclear facilities have been very weak, and we expect it to be our nuclear facilities and fight back effectively.”
He said Iran has emerged from their “institutions” and added: “Maybe Iran can achieve peace and harmony in the region now”.
If there is indeed a restriction on damage and there is no additional Iranian attack, then Trump seems to be inclined to raise fires, hoping that Iranians are willing to negotiate seriously.
Trump’s weekend attack on Iran was a high-risk maneuver, but its rewards are being appreciated.
This dynamic played a role in January 2020 when Trump ordered the targeted killing of Iranian revolutionary guard Qasem Soleimani, leader of Baghdad.
Iran launched missiles at an Iraqi military base, injured more than 100 American soldiers, but the United States chose not to escalate. The cooler head ends up prevailing.
According to reports from U.S. media, in Monday’s latest attack, Iran hit the total number of U.S. fighter jets, total number of bombs dropped in the weekend’s attack.
Iran provided advance notice to the Katari government ahead of the release, and Trump expressed his gratitude, which shows that Iranians are seeking proportionality rather than escalation.
For much of the day, Trump has been more focused on oil prices, prices reported by U.S. media and the suggestion of former Russian President Dimitry Medvedev that external countries provide nuclear weapons to Iran.
On Monday night, Trump told reporters that the U.S. military was ready to threaten Iran.
“We have great people who know how to protect ourselves,” he said. “Our troops are ready.”
But if Iran launches another attack – and there will be US death or significant damage – Trump will be under pressure.
U.S. officials said Sunday, no doubt that unlike past leaders – the president followed his threat.
However, doing so happens to risk the kind of protracted war, and even the United States is concerned that if the United States participates in the battle, it will lead to some Trump supporters.
However, for the moment, Iran is providing off-road vehicles for the conflict, and Trump seems eager to accept it.
