Captain Cooper leads in General Currira’s hands after Iran strike

Cooper formally took over the leading CENTCOM at a command ceremony in Tampa, Florida on August 8, located at the CentCom headquarters. Kurilla’s retirement ceremony took place the same day, and a CENTCOM spokesperson confirmed to Fox News Digital.

“Under General Currira’s leadership, the U.S. Central Command and the entire joint force performed well, helped build partnerships, increased the deadliness of the U.S. military, and defended Americans and civilians abroad,” Cooper said in a naval statement. “I am very grateful for the opportunity to lead the son and daughter of the United States as we support the important mission of strengthening regional security and stability in the Central Command area.”
