Texas Attorney General Paxton acknowledges candidates for his role

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Republican who challenged incumbent Republican Senator John Cornyn, is acknowledging Aaron Reitz For the Attorney General, Fox News Digital learned.

Paxton abandoned his support to Reitz, who had been with U.S. Rep. Chip Roy (R-TexasDuring his previous tenure as the first assistant attorney general in Lone Star State in Paxton, he announced his campaign for Attorney General Post.

“Aaron Reitz is definitely the next top attorney in Texas,” Paxton asserted in a statement included in the Reitz campaign press release. “So, I gave him my complete and comprehensive recognition to inherit my position as Attorney General.”

Reitz briefly served as assistant attorney general for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Law Policy earlier this year.
