Education Department Discovers George Mason Violating Chapter 6 of Dei Practice

“Despite an unfortunate chapter in Mason’s history, the university now has the opportunity to comply with federal civil rights laws by entering into a solution agreement with the Office of Civil Rights,” he continued. “In the past seven months, it’s clear: Trump-McMahon’s Department of Education will not allow racial exclusion practices – a violation of the Civil Rights Act, the Equal Protection Clause and the Supreme Court’s precedent – ​​continues to undermine our nation’s educational institutions.”

The Office of Civil Rights has proposed possible resolutions on university presidents, including conditions that six institutions must agree to. The university must agree to the conditions to resolve the matter within the next 10 days.

The proposed resolution will require the University to send a statement to students and staff and commit to comply with Chapter 6 during its recruitment, recruitment, promotion and term of office, which should include University President Used to “promote illegal discriminatory practices.”

Under the proposed resolution, the statement must also be markedly displayed on the university’s website and any statement to the contrary must be removed.

The university will need to agree to amend any policies and documents used in its recruitment, recruitment, promotion and tenure process and must remove any provision that requires or encourages the use of race as a factor in these practices.

The federal government also said George Mason must conduct annual training for anyone involved in these practices to confirm that this does not provide preferences based on race.

In addition, the agency must produce records to prove the agreements available to the government upon request.
