U.S. officials confirmed to Fox News that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has authorized nearly 2,000 National Guard soldiers and pilots to fight in Washington, D.C.
“At the direction of the Secretary of Defense, JTF-DC members who support the mission to reduce crime rates in the national capital will soon be on duty with weapons issued by their services, consistent with their mission and training,” U.S. defense officials told Fox News.
Forces can start carrying weapons in the coming days. The move was caused by the Trump administration’s crimes in the national capital.
