However, the dispute between the two seems to have cooled down. The social media quarrel stopped, and in late July, Trump seemed to want Musk to be happy, writing that he wanted to see billionaires’ business “never flourished as before.”

“Everyone said I will destroy Elon’s company with massive subsidies (if not all) received from the U.S. government. That’s not the case! I hope Elon and all the businesses in our country are actually thriving and thriving as they did before!

A Musk spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.
