Fire report delayed when the Fed investigates the Palisade fire

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass Post-reports of the Palisade fire were delayed until the ongoing federal investigation was completed.

According to Bass, the delay was a request by the U.S. Attorney’s Office to postpone its release temporarily as alcohol, tobacco, guns and explosives continue to investigate.

Some community groups criticized the delay, believing that residents should get answers about the city’s response even if the federal investigation continues.

Below California Law requires local governments to provide post-action reports after all declared disasters. The U.S. Attorney’s Office is investigating to find out what caused the historic fire in January.

The Emergency Services Act says the Emergency Services Office will work with state and local agencies to report within 180 days of each disaster declaration.

City officials expect the lawsuit to be related to the response, suggesting that the contents of the report have legal and financial consequences for Los Angeles.

Sources close to the mayor told Fox News numbers that the report will contain some information about city resources and how it will be used after the fire begins.

They also said the mayor seemed eager to comply with the request to postpone the issuance.

A statement issued by Beth on Tuesday stated that delays are avoiding interference Federal Investigation It will be released immediately after the Justice Department completes its investigation.

“Under state regulations (California regulations, Section 19, Section 2450), the City of Los Angeles must complete a lawsuit report on the action Palisade fires. The Palisades fire broke out in January and quickly spread to 23,000 acres, destroying more than 6,800 buildings, claiming 12 lives and causing the evacuation of more than 100,000 residents. Overall, an estimated loss of $28 billion to nearly $54 billion makes the Palisade Fire the third most destructive wildfire in California history.
