Mandani recalls that he said he had a conversation with volunteers from a group that recognized the campaign on primary day. He said the volunteer “received calls from colleagues asking about aunts and uncles who were told they were not registered as Democrats and were able to vote at the polling location after they collapsed.” Only registered Democrats were eligible to vote in the June primary.

Mamdani also tells a story about an 18-year-old man pulling him up next to him on a motorcycle on a primary night and asking for a selfie. Mandani said he asked the young man if he voted and used his license to check his registration. According to Mamdani, this person is Registered Republican, Who is not eligible to vote in the primary but can support the Democratic socialist candidate in the November general election.

“I tell you the story of that 18-year-old, those aunts and uncles, who have to be evacuated from the ruins of those polls to remind us how many New Yorkers still have to tell,” Mandani said. “And I appreciate you here because usually any victory in politics is described as a candidate. But you know the truth. It’s your victory. It’s your victory. It’s your work to get us from 1% of the polls to defeating the former governor 13 points.”

Mamdani praised his campaign Canvassers, who went door to door on a six-story walk, rainy or splendid street, to participate in “at best, a campaign that won the most votes in the city’s major history.”

Mamdani won 573,000 votes in the June primary, although voter turnout is less than 30% of registered Democrats.

“I thank you for being here today because you show that the move is just beginning. Yes, we’re just getting started because we know there are more communities to reach, so many New Yorkers can talk to us and there are more people we can finally prove that local governments can actually meet their material needs,” Mammdani added on Sunday. “And I appreciate you doing this because you are the one who has changed history in this city and this country and it’s an honor to be part of this movement with each of you.”

Recently, Mamdani recently withdrew his long-term comments on refunds, ending his comments without receiving any issues in the press, but came to social media earlier Sunday to resolve a mass shooting in Brooklyn.

He said the Crown Heights incident “stole the lives of three New Yorkers and injured eight more”, adding that he “thanks to the first responders who were eager to rescue and save lives towards danger.”
