Trump announced a place for the Kennedy Center winners at a press conference, saying he will meet with Senate Minority Leader Chuck SchumerDN.Y. and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, DN.Y. , before the deadline.

“But it’s almost a waste of time to meet because they never approved anything,” Trump added.

“I don’t believe anyone has the ability to make an agreement with these people,” he continued. “They went crazy.”

“We all want to pursue a bipartisan, two-color appropriation process,” Schumer said at the time. “That’s what has been done successfully and we believe Republicans make it very difficult to do so.”

Schumer briefly flirted with the government shutdown earlier this year. However, he eventually kept the Republican Party long in Washington and voted with Republicans, in the process, inspiring the fire of his ability to be the leader of the Senate Democratic Caucus in his own party.
