Cornyn accused lawmakers of honest service fraud or action-Hobs ransomware if they took money and gifts in exchange for using their official position to prevent quorum calls. Cornyn’s request also follows similar requirements from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. The two were trapped in a major battle that was already bloodied to seize the Republican nomination for the Lone Star State Senate.
Paxton asked Texas judges prison O’Rourke on Tuesday to charge him of violating a court order issued last week that barred fundraising in support of the efforts of Democratic lawmakers in Texas to redistribution efforts.

Cohen noted that legislators’ flights not only prevented efforts to rezoning, but also damaged legislation, which would provide assistance to victims of the recently devastating Texas flood.
“The special session will end in a few days, at which point the assistance and other necessary measures for flood victims will not be resolved,” Cohen said. “It is indeed shameful that the failure of the duties of the members of the absconded House of Representatives.”
