Jen Pawol became the first female referee to referee Major League Baseball (MLB) game in the regular season, making us our sports history.

Pawol, 48, was responsible for first base in Saturday’s game between the Miami Marlins and the Atlanta Braves.

“I know the gravity. I know the size,” she said.

Pawol was greeted by cheers and applause and was delighted to welcome her to the court in Atlanta, Georgia.

“It was amazing when we were in the competition, and it seemed like a lot of people started to applaud and say my name, so it was very intense, very excited,” she said.

During the game, supporters in the stands held signs including “Pawol Make Herstory” and “Time of And and All the Ball Ball.”

In honor of the occasion, after the game, Pawol donated the hat to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.

Pawol is scheduled to return to the field Saturday night, when she will be in charge of third base.

In the final game of the three-game series, everyone’s eyes will be staring at her as she stands behind the plate, calling the ball and hitting the ball.

Pawol is a New Jersey native who has served as a referee in the minor league for many years, overseeing more than 1,200 games in her 30+ career, according to MBL.

In the stands that support her, there are about 30 families and friends, including current players, managers and referees.

She entered the MBL 28 years after the NBA allowed its first female basketball referee. The National Football League (NFL) hired its first female official 10 years ago, while the Men’s Football World Cup hired a female referee.

The National Hockey League has not seen a female referee yet.
