Federal court rejects Oklahoma law prohibits gender transition treatment of minors

Federal Court of Appeal upheld Oklahoma Law Sex transition treatment for minors is prohibited.

Senate Bill 613, which allows health care workers to provide gender transition treatment to minors (such as puberty blockers and hormones) is a felony.

The bill was passed by the state’s Republican-controlled legislature and was signed in 2023 by GOP Governor Kevin Stitt.

Five trans children families and a doctor challenged the state’s law, believing it violated their constitutional rights.

Italian law will regulate gender transition treatment for minors

Plaintiffs represented by Lambda Legal, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Oklahoma’s ACLU argued that lawmakers approved the law with discriminatory intent, noting that the 2022 law points to a 2022 law that allows Oklahoma pandemic relief to provide a gender transition for hospitals’ hospitals’ hospitals to reduce the gender transition in hospitals’ hospitals’ hospitals’ hospitals to cause health treatment.

The order says Oklahoma’s laws are not unconstitutional and are not intended to discriminate against transgender children.

“We recognize the importance of this issue to all participants,” Carson wrote. “However, it remains a new question of how to ensure the health and welfare of children. We do not usurp the judgment of the legislature when it conducts a serious and profound debate on the morality, legitimacy and practicality of the gender transition process for minors.”

“While we respect the plaintiff’s disagreement with the Legislature’s assessment of such procedural risks, a rational basis alone will not invalidate the democratically formulated laws.”

Gentner Drummond, the Republican attorney general of Oklahoma, praised the court’s ruling in a social media article.

He wrote on X on Thursday: “For years, radical left-wing activists have pushed the lies of minors. The fact is very simple: There is no such thing. Today, in Oklahoma, we made a new decision in the Oklahoma Court of Appeals, celebrated the fact and won the fact for our children, won the battle for our struggle. Fight for our contributions.

On the other hand, plaintiff’s attorneys described Wednesday’s ruling as “a devastating result of transgender youth and their families in Oklahoma and another tragic result of the Supreme Court’s mistakes and harmful ruling in Tennessee.”

“Oklahoma’s ban openly discriminates against transgender youth in the state, putting political dogma above parents, children and their family doctors,” the attorney said in a joint statement. “While we and our clients consider the next step, we hope that all transgender people in Oklahoma and their families know that we will never stop fighting for the future they deserve and the freedom to be themselves.”
