How Israel’s rights explain the aid disaster it causes

There are reports of starvation in Gaza. Do you deny those?

I doubt ninety percent of them. I can’t tell you that it doesn’t exist in a specific place or in a specific person, but I don’t think the numbers for Hamas and international media quotes are numbers.

One thing your work says is that, essentially, there were false warnings about the hunger crisis throughout the war. Why do you think the warning was wrong before?

Hamas tries to portray a picture that does not exist. There is no hunger in Gaza. For years, Hamas claimed that Gaza was starving. Hamas has been using this alleged hunger weapon to get more humanitarian aid. [A U.N. study from 2022, prior to the war, found that more than three-quarters of Palestinian families reduced the number of meals they consumed because of a lack of food.]
