Former – Supperman actor Dean Cain announced that he is planning to join the U.S. immigration and customs enforcement agency, ICE.
In an interview Wednesday, Cain, who had been sworn in as a law enforcement officer, said: “I will be sworn in as soon as possible.”
It was behind the Trump administration’s accelerated deportation program after he released a video that encouraged the public to join the agency’s hiring driver.
Cain played Superman in the 1993-1997 TV series “Louis & Clark: Superman’s New Adventures”.
He continued to appear in many other films and TV shows and directed them.
In late July, ICE announced that its goal was to recruit another 10,000 new staff, which doubled the agency’s staff as it would increase deportation across the country.
It particularly hopes to recruit deportation officers, as well as lawyers, criminal investigators, student visa judges and other roles.
“I released the recruitment video yesterday – I was actually a sworn in deputy sheriff and a reserve policeman – I’m not part of the ICE, but once I put it there and you’re putting a little bit on the clip and you’re going crazy.”
“So now I’ve talked to some officials on the ice and I’m going to be sworn in as soon as possible.”

Kane added: “People have to step up. I’m stepping up. Hopefully there is a group of other former officials, former ICE agents will step up, and we will achieve these recruitment goals immediately and we will help protect this country.”
BBC News has contacted the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for comment.
U.S. President Donald Trump vowed to increase the speed of deportation to one million a year.
Part of this work has included increased immigration raids since Trump became president.
They sparked protests in cities across the United States, and critics say the attacks were illegal.
On July 29, ICE announced it would offer up to $50,000 (£37,700) in recruitment bonuses and provide assistance to Americans interested in helping the Trump administration deportation.
As part of the recruitment campaign, the Department of Homeland Security unveiled a recruitment poster similar to that used during World War II, which contained the terms “America needs you” and “Defend homeland” and used Uncle Sam, U.S. President Donald Trump, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and other officials.
By Wednesday, the agency said it had received more than 80,000 applicants for 10,000 positions. Norm said of Fox News that they have eliminated the age limit for applicants.
ICE currently has 20,000 officers and support staff, distributed in 400 offices nationwide.
The recruitment drive comes weeks after Trump signed his massive spending bill.
The bill includes more than $76 billion allocated to ICE, almost 10 times the bill it received before – and makes it the highest funded federal law enforcement agency.
