Salman Khan greenlit Sikandar as his next after considering other projects as well, including a Karan Johar production and a Sooraj Barjatya directorial.

He is here to give his Eidi. On Friday, superstar Salman Khan announced his next film Sikandar and booked the Eid 2025 slot for the upcoming action thriller, to be directed by Ghajini filmmaker AR Murugadoss. The new project is backed by Sajid Nadiadwala.

In true Salman Khan style, the actor announced his new film with a poster but also gave a shout-out to this year’s two Eid releases, Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff’s actioner Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Ajay Devgn-headlined sports biopic drama Maidaan.

The superstar, who is known for his Eid releases since 2010, took to X and revealed the first poster of the film. “Iss Eid ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ aur ‘Maidaan’ ko dekho aur agli Eid Sikandar se aa kar milo…. Wish u all Eid Mubarak! #SajidNadiadwala Presents #Sikandar. Directed by @ARMurugadoss @NGEMovies @WardaNadiadwala #SikandarEid2025,” his tweet read.

Salman has dominated the Eid release date slot since his blockbuster Dabangg in 2010. Barring four films–last year’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Bharat, Race 3 and Tubelight–every Eid release has gone on to become a blockbuster, including Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger, Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultaan.

The superstar greenlit Sikandar after considering other projects as well, including a Karan Johar production and a Sooraj Barjatya directorial. Salman would hope to return with a bang at the box office, where his last few outings, including Tiger 3, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, have missed the big blockbuster mark.

Meanwhile, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan will battle it out at the box office this Eid, with many in the trade noting that none of the two films sadly have the audience crazy usually associated with a big holiday film.
