Atlantic Report There were at least two Democrats ahead of the NGA’s summer meeting in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Tim Walz of Minnesota and Laura Kelly of Kansas plan to stop paying dues when renewing membership this month in NGA’s response to President Donald Trump’s second term.

“We shouldn’t be politically active like we do in Washington, D.C.,” Stetter told Fox News numbers in an exclusive interview at the summer meeting. “But sometimes, if you’re the governor running for president or higher, you’re going to make it political.”

Kelly is the chairman of the Democratic Governors Association (DGA), a partisan governor who has been speaking out in boycotting the Trump administration. With Walz’s weight in his third gubernatorial campaign, the former vice presidential candidate has been a major critic of the Trump administration since losing the White House with Vice President Kamala Harris last year.

Before the summer meeting, NGA Communications Director Eric Wohlschlegel emphasized the bipartisan nature of NGA and told Fox News Digital that NGA’s “mission has not changed.”

When the Trump administration stopped federal funding early this year, NGA Democratic members complained that the group “had not responded enough” as Maine Gov. Janet Mills clashed with Trump’s biological man played by Trump in the women’s movement, and recently, Trump authorized the National Guard to authorize the National Guard to join California’s protests.

“Every public statement NGA issue reflects bipartisan consensus. So far, all statements have reached a consensus except one statement, and when the governor disagrees, we do not issue a single statement at all. That’s the principle that we will retain our role as bipartisan convener and we won’t compromise,” Wohlschlegel explained.

Polis spokesman Conor Cahill told Fox News numbers without directly resolving the dispute that the governor was “honest” to lead the NGA and “together with the governor to educate the aisles, allow reforms, and allow federal efforts to strip the National Guard of the efforts to retake the National Guard’s state government and to enhance state priorities.”

He added: “In this polarized time, bipartisan organizations need more than ever before, and the NGA must continue to show value to all governors and effectively comment on various matters with the public and federal government.”
