Republicans are seen as parties with clear vision, Democrats win before 2026 elections

In the midterm elections in 2026, a new Fox News survey found that while Republicans have lost some reason to Democrats in dealing with key issues, voters are more likely to think that Republicans have a clear plan to solve the country’s problems.

These shifts are mainly attributed to self-identified Democrats’ consolidated their preference for their party to deal with these issues, and the reduction of support for Republicans or turning to Democrats by independents.

Self-identified Republicans continue to express their high support for the party on the issue.

“Independents and even some Democrats have changed President Biden By 2023 and 2024, the Democratic Convention, but they have shifted policies to President Trump and Republicans in 2025,” said Daron Shaw, a Republican poller, who conducted a Fox News survey with Democrat Chris Anderson. The Fox News survey was conducted July 18-21, 2025 under the guidance of Beacon Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R), which included interviews with 1,000 registered voters randomly selected from the national voter archives. Respondents had a conversation with live interviewers (114) and mobile phones (636) after receiving the text (250), or completed the survey online. The sampling error of the results based on the complete sample is ±3 percentage points. The sampling error of the results in the subgroup is high. In addition to sampling errors, the wording and order of the problem also affects the results. Weights are often applied to age, race, education, and region variables to ensure that respondents’ demographics represent the registered voter population.
