Osborne Died at the age of 76 Tuesday, July 22, after fighting Parkinson’s disease. Iommi, 77, told ITV News In an interview on Wednesday, July 23, he believed that Osborne “sticks to do that show.”
“Geezer and I were talking about it last night – we think he persisted and after that, he did and said goodbye to his fans and it was really the end,” Black Sabbath Cofounder and Guitarist said.
“I think he must have something to say, ‘Okay, that’s the last thing I’m going to do,’” Iommi continued. “I don’t know whether he thought he was going to die or something. But he really wanted to do it, he was determined to do it. Fair membership fee, he did.”
Iommi recalls that Osbourne looked bad for the band’s final performance in the rehearsal, but his death was still “shocked.”
“We don’t want him to be there at the rehearsal every day because it’s too much. He just can’t stand it.” “They’ll take him in, he’ll sit down and sing a few songs, and then we talk about some trash old days, laugh, and he goes.”
Osborne Family, including his wife salonbroke the news of his death in Tuesday’s emotional statement. “We have to say we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne had passed away this morning,” the statement read. “He is with his family, surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at the moment.”
Immi said he was incredible when he received the news.
“When I heard it yesterday, it couldn’t sink. I thought, ‘Impossible.’ I only have the text of the previous day that seems untrue…”
“We didn’t expect him to really leave soon. Well, we didn’t expect him to go.”
