the MLS All-Star Game is what you do. Want to see it as another benchmark by which we can measure the top professional leagues in the United States and Canada against Mexico? The current format compares an MLS star team to LIGA MX’s own choices and will provide (but the conclusions that are fragile may come from MLS’s 3-1 win).

Hope it’s just a good time? The tenor of the competition, and the very fun but very stupid skill competition the night before, MLS won that. Sam Surridge’s first half opener (confirmation confirmation was delayed by VAR checks), after an impressive display of speed and skills from Denis Bouanga of LAFC, who picked Necaxa’s Agustín Palavecino’s pocket and then suddenly scored a goal. The Philadelphia League’s Tai Chi scored a second of a good job in the superball of Columbus’ Diego Rossi. All four people involved in the goal are one of the league’s best offensive stars and they will shine brightly.

Ligamx also has a major asset ball. Gilberto Mora, 16, scored the only goal of the league that night after an impressive match against Mexico during the Golden Cup and did the same game at the club level in Tijuana. Vancouver’s American standout Brian White was tied to the final goal of the MLS, thus driving the league’s work, improving the depth of USMNT before the huge World Cup year.

Replace regularly every 30 minutes or so. There was no heavy tackle imposed, no reported effort on both teams in the offense, and the spectacular crowd seemed to be pleasant.

But if you see it as a waste of time, that’s why – you’ll have some well-known companies. The league’s biggest star expressed the same word about his action, with Lionel Messi who is fully with the three-day celebrations in Austin, Texas (along with Miami International teammate Jordi Alba, who shared many of Messi’s best years at FC Barcelona). Both could be suspended for Miami’s next game due to their absence, a key clash with Cincinnati’s top Cincinnati on Saturday.

In a sense, Messi’s failure to appear is an unnecessary detachment. Promotional demands for him were great, but they have always been, and that has not stopped him from continuing to become his famous secluded self. Like the rest of the world, events like the All-Stars are a fixed choice for American sports culture. It has been around since the league’s first year, with one in other major professional leagues in the United States. Effectively mocking its existence similar to protesting the MLS season with scorching heat and cold, or complaining about the Boxing Day matches and the resulting fixtures during the holidays in England. Conditions may not be ideal, timing may be terrible, but it is part of the culture.

In that kind of sports culture where Messi is a natural fixture, big stars like him appear in these games. Michael Jordan competed in 13 games. LeBron James has already started all 21 of his appearances. Wayne Gretzky participated at 18; Sidney Crosby just finished tenth. Shohei Ohtani has played in every game of the last five All-Star games, even though his health prevents him from fully participating. It’s not ridiculous to have an All-Star game, and likewise, it’s not pale to expect a player to earn more than $20 million a year, but it’s a wise expectation to be the face of the league.

still? Unlike stars who have been and are now, neither Messi nor Alba have named them in the North American League. It’s not that any player is shore along his name – both impressed in MLS. In a sense, Messi showed the league a form of respect in a backhand form by rescuing himself from what is actually important. Even MLS commissioner Don Garber admitted at a press conference before the game that, from a business standpoint, the All-Stars, while useful to the league, are not without flaws for the players.

“This is the first time we have all the professional people and society [Chief Soccer Officers] Here, all our CBOs [Chief Business Officers] Here, all of our owners are here, and it’s a big midseason break for us. Most of our teams have 10 days off. Miami doesn’t. We must manage as a coalition. At the same time, we do have rules, and we must manage them through this rule. ”

By “Working Through This”, Garber hints about what he said explicitly later at that press conference: Now is the basis for MLS to reconsider its All-Star game. The Commissioner revealed for the first time that the league plays the average number of specific viewers in the league: 120,000. According to Gaber, this is not an impressive number, it represents a nearly 50% increase last year. Like all leagues, will the currently presented All-Star Game continue to play as all leagues, because all leagues, like all leagues, involve continuous traffic congestion? Not likely.

Garber said the league is still focused on keeping the game competitive, and changing the game can be as simple as finding different types of opponents. In the past, the league has hosted competitions with famous clubs from around the world – perhaps this may become a reality again.

However, this competitiveness is driven by the fact that most American leagues behave exactly the opposite. The NBA has abandoned the old-style stuff, and the game itself seems to be less and less like real basketball. The NFL simply doesn’t have a Pro Bowl anymore (this is a wise decision considering the inherent violence of modern American football). Major League Baseball (MLB) American Sportsratings rose 6% this year.

“I love the All-Star Game,” Garber said, “most leagues may do that. But how do you make players love the All-Star Game?”

Judging by the reviews throughout the week, most MLS players do this. But this feeling may be declining, and perhaps no longer matters anyway.
