Colorado Rockies reward high school baseball stars Ethan Holliday He received a record bonus after choosing him at the Major League Baseball Draft earlier this month.
Holliday, 18, signed a $9 million prize with the Rockies on Tuesday, July 22, the biggest prize a high school player has earned in draft history.
This number is the fourth highest bonus ever.

Ethan is currently a high school student at Stillwater High School in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
In an interview ESPN After Ethan was selected by the Rockies, he said he was “super juice” joining his father’s former organization.
“It’s an incredible feeling,” he continued. “This opportunity is incredible. I’m very grateful. The organization of the Rockies is incredible.”
“I wouldn’t sit here and say it’s easy,” Ethan said in another interview with the MLB Network.
“But I’m lucky to be able to play baseball,” he continued. “If the hardest thing in my life is expectations and stress, then I’ll wake up every day. Pour into the people I live, the people who support me, and that’s one of the main reasons I can do what I love.”
Ethan recently explained how his father (along with Oakland Track and Field, St. Louis Cardinals and New York Yankees and 21-year-old Brother Jackson, who has played in the Rockies for a total of six seasons, and how he can also help prepare for his journey forward.
