The U.S. Department of Justice fired a federal prosecutor who targeted sex offenders Jeffrey Epstein, his accomplices Ghislaine Maxwell and Hip Hop Mogul Sean’s “Didy” comb.
It is not clear why Maurene Comey was removed from her work in the southern part of New York. But, the day after her dismissal, Comey told her former colleague that “fear is a tyrant’s tool, waving independent thoughts.”
She is the daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, who was fired by President Donald Trump in 2017.
The Justice Department has been firing lawyers whose work has angered the president, including an investigation into Trump’s special attorney.
According to US media reports, Ms. Comey is a trial attorney for the famous Justice Department office in Manhattan since 2015.
According to Politico’s first report, a copy of the message she sent to her former colleagues said: “If a professional prosecutor can be fired unreasonably, fear may seep into the decisions of those who stay.”
“Not fear, but let this moment cheer for the fire that has burned in the heart of this place,” Ms Comey added. “The indignation of the obligation to abuse power. Commitment to seek justice for victims. Dedication to the dedication to the truth.”
Her withdrawal comes from Trump and Justice Department leader Pam Bondi, Attorney General Pam Bondi, opposition to the administration’s handling of archives related to Epstein.
Epstein, a strong convicted pedophile, committed suicide in a New York prison while awaiting trial in 2019.
Bondi appears to indicate in February that she will release Epstein’s client list There is no “crime list” and no further documents will be disclosed.
On Wednesday, Trump fired his strongest condemnation on supporters’ social media, claiming to have a cover-up against Epstein and tagging him as “the weak” and saying he no longer wants their support.
Ms Comey’s dismissal came after her prosecution team failed to convict Sean Combs. He faces the worst allegations and allegations of sexual trafficking. The rapper was convicted this month.
According to ABC News, Trump is upset with a job in his administration.
Her father, James Comey, recently interviewed by the U.S. Secret Service after release – and then deleted – A photo of shells on Instagram called for violence against Trump.
Earlier this month, the Justice Department reportedly investigated the former FBI director.
Prosecutors are said to be studying an investigation into Russia’s attempt to influence the 2016 White House election to review Comey’s statements to Congress. The investigation failed to find Trump guilty of the Kremlin.
The BBC has contacted the Justice Department for comment.
The agency has been liquidating officials since the Republican president returned to office in January.
Last week, Bondi fired at least 20 employees, who played Trump’s efforts to overturn his 2020 presidential election defeat and the misfortune allegedly found in his Mar-a-Lago estate, Florida, in a twin investigation by special attorney Jack Smith.
When Trump supported Congress’s attack, many prosecutors accused participants of participating in the U.S. Capitol riots were also fired.
