Hawley urges Noem

Hawley’s request came a year after 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks shot Trump from a rooftop near the President’s Rally. The gunman shot the president’s ear clearly.

Even a year later, though, the problem remains problematic.

In his letter to Noim, Hawley mentioned the first anniversary of the first assassination of Trump.

“This is a disturbing chapter in our country’s history and a reminder of the importance of maintaining transparency during a national crisis in maintaining public trust,” he wrote. “To this end, I urge you to take the necessary steps to decrypt all documents within the department Homeland Security (DHS) is related to the July 13, 2024 incident.

“As you know, assassination attempts against the current and former presidents are rare but extreme events in American life,” Hawley continued. “The American people correctly expect their administration to be completely transparent.”

The senator noted that the Biden administration’s Secret Service and Department of Homeland Security’s investigation strategy investigated the Stonewall strategy, which he said ultimately denies the fundamental facts of the American people.

“The public learns more from whistleblowers than from public officials, and I published a report documenting these disclosures, many of which have been confirmed so far,” Hawley wrote. “Last October, in a unanimous vote, the Homeland Security Commission passed my legislation requiring all relevant documents to be released to the public.

“Now, I ask you to immediately decrypt and release all documents related to your powers, but only the narrowest possible revisions required to protect ongoing actions or personal safety,” he said. “The public responds to this incident, what allows it to happen, and what the government takes to strengthen protection measures.”

Hawley demanded a complete inventory of all classified or non-public materials related to Trump’s first assassination attempt, including reports, internal communications, threat assessments, post-action reviews and records coordinated with other agencies.

Hawley accused Secret Service, the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security of all attempting to “escape real accountability.”

“These agencies and their leaders have conducted a slow investigation into the Congressional investigation, misleading the American people and avoiding responsibility,” the report said.

In the first of two attempts to assassinate Trump in just two months, Hawley visited the Butler Rally site to interview whistleblowers and opened the whistleblower tip line to encourage those with relevant information to share with officials.

Documents submitted by the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee also show significant failures among six U.S. Secret Service (USSS) agents who did not need to be suspended for assassination attempts.

The documents are based on interviews with the agent and colleagues and revealed that several agents acknowledged major security issues at Butler’s rally, but none raised concerns or helped to develop a plan that could properly cover the roof, providing a clear Trump shot for the scammers.

Documents show that some of the responsible agents have never even conducted a drill on the site. For example, the lead forward agent shows that due to the inquiry, she never performed the final safety practice on the rally field due to the exhaustion of the hospital.

Although no agents were fired, some agents did not pay the suspension of various terms.
