Trump claims that Putin threatens to bomb Moscow if he invades Ukraine

According to the book, Trump told donors that he issued a harsh warning to donors Putin about any potential invasion. In addition, he said that if Chinese leaders invade Taiwan, he also issued a similar warning to Chinese President Xi Jinping.

In response, the White House said Russia invaded Ukraine only in February 2022, the first Trump took office.

“As President Trump said time and time again, Russia never dared to invade Ukraine while in office. This only happened when Biden took office,” White House spokesman Anna Kelly said in a statement Wednesday. “Thanks to the president’s leadership, the United States has once again become the leader of the free world, and peace has been restored through strength. President Trump won the first agenda of the United States and he is working to implement the mandate given to him by the American people.”

The White House did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment to confirm the authenticity of the audio.

“2024” is one of several books released in 2025, detailing how Trump won the 2024 election and how Biden’s acumen declined. It was written by Josh Dawsey of the Wall Street Journal, Tyler Pager of the New York Times and Isaac Arnsdorf of the Washington Post.

The author did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Trump has been frustrated with Putin recently as he tries to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. Trump said Tuesday that during a cabinet meeting he was tired of Putin and said he was paying attention to new sanctions on Russia.

“If you want to know the truth, Putin gets a lot of bulls,” Trump said Tuesday.
