Love Island’s Cierra Ortega apologizes for derogatory social media post

Love Island America’s Cierra Ortega apologized for old social media posts, including derogatory terms for Asian people, as she was suddenly removed from a popular TV show.

The 25-year-old content creator from Los Angeles said in a video message that the post that caused her to leave was sent in 2024, and that a follower told her that it was a dirty one.

“I was embarrassed at that moment,” she said, adding that she “deleted the post immediately.”

Ortega said she agreed to the network’s decision to remove her from the exhibition and said she understood why the audience was unhappy.

“I’m sorry, I was educated not only about the true meaning and history of the word, but also about anyone around me.

“I think this kind of rebound is obviously difficult to deal with.”

Ortega left the show of the spin-off show of the Pop British Reality series, following the spin-off of Islander Yulissa Escobar, who left behind after her videotape after reappearing her racial slander on the podcast in 2021.
