House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-la. President Donald Trump’s big giant enterprises will “jet fuel” for the economy despite criticism from Democrats, said Sunday.
Johnson handed Trump over to Trump on Friday after the president signed a signed tax cut and spending package, which he mocked two future bills. During a appearance on Fox News Sunday, he said “Big and Beautiful Bill”, a “big leap to our priorities” and the first step in a three-tier strategy. Johnson expects a second settlement bill by the fall, and one-third to the spring before the end of the current Congress.
“I think we can do that, so you’ll see more people pushing forward these common sense principles to give the people the first agenda of America,” Johnson said. “That’s what they’re elected to do, and that’s very moving forward.”
Johnson withdrew a reported Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) memorandum, claiming that Republicans will lose their majority in 2026 due to the “big and beautiful bill.”

“Our Republicans will be talking a simple fact nationwide, guess what? It will prove,” Johnson said. “Everyone will get more paid, they will have more jobs and opportunities. The economy will do better, and we will be able to point it out as a clear result of what we do. So don’t buy those fake conversation points.”
A spokesperson dismissed the criticism Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif. DNC chairman Ken Martin, in particular, is “old, tired conversation points” that are often used in any Republican tax law.
Johnson stressed that the bill permanently extended Trump’s tax cuts in 2017, and a spokesperson claimed the bill targeted low-income Americans. The lowest 20% earners witnessed the lowest federal tax rates in 40 years, he said, as these original cuts were extended by reducing tips, overtime and taxes for older people, which he said would help Republicans in the 2026 midterm elections.
“We are giving tax cuts to everyone,” Johnson told Fox News Sunday host Shannon Bream. “It will help the economy, it will be jet fuel. Small business owners, entrepreneurs, adventurers, people who provide jobs, manufacturers, farmers get aid here, and that will boost the economy.”
Johnson said in a citation board of directors that the big giants will stimulate 3% economic growth, create 4 million jobs, and increase the paid salary of the average household by $13,000.
“It’s a good thing for people who go to work every day,” Johnson said. “They will feel that. We’re excited about the upcoming 26-year election cycle. Because people will ride high economic places like the first two years of the Trump administration. This time it’s steroids.”

Johnson also responded from Rep. Glenn Ivey, D-Md. He believes that large Americans permanently cut taxes on the wealthiest Americans, while working-class people are “time sensitive” and “expired in a few years.”
“Now, I don’t think he’s reading this bill, it’s 940 pages, so I’ll give some grace to it,” Johnson said in response to Ivy’s claim.
Bream noted that Ivey was listening while reading on the Senate floor last Sunday.

“Yes, you’re right, lasting 19 hours, or what it took,” Johnson said. “If you make between $30,000 and $80,000 a year, your federal tax rate could be reduced by 15%. You’ll save more money, you’ll keep more hard-earned money, and that won’t go away. So, lowering all these taxes permanently, which is the most important, most important tax, most important, most important tax expense, the tax that Congress is working hard every day, and it’s hard to work hard.
Johnson said the bill promoted “promoting growth policies” and constituted “the largest savings for taxpayers in U.S. history.”

“In the bill, we will also protect the border permanently. We will return to U.S. energy dominance, which will also be the jet fuel for the economy,” Johnson said. “We will take care of peace through our strength as we will make important investments in the military industrial complex, which will help us.” Competition with China. There are many in this bill. ”
