Hollywood actor Michael Madsen died Thursday morning at his California home, US media reported. He is 67 years old.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, authorities responded to his Malibu phone number 911 and declared dead at 08:25 local time (15:25 GMT).
According to a representative, he was believed to have died of cardiac arrest.
Madsen is a prolific actor best known for his role in the Quentin Tarantino movie Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill: Vol. 1. 2. Eight people who hated each other, once in Hollywood.
In Reservoir Dog, one of the groundbreaking 1990s movies, he plays a blonde thief, described by his companion as “Psycho” and shocks the audience in one scene where he cuts off the policeman’s ears.
Madson has also held many TV roles in a career spanning forty years.
On TV and movies, he often portrays law enforcement officers such as sheriffs and detectives, as well as legal disruptors, such as the washed killer in the Bill Bill series.
In recent years, he has brought his voice to video games, including Grand Theft Auto III and the Shame series.
Madsen was born in Chicago in September 1957. His father was a naval veteran during World War II and later became a firefighter and his mother was a filmmaker.
He is the brother of Virginia Madsen, known for several films including the Side, and she was nominated for the Oscar and Golden Globes.
He married three times and survived with four children, including actor Christian Madsen.
According to People Mason, Mason died in 2024 with his son Hudson, his 28-year-old wife, Deanna.
“My brother Michael has left the stage,” Virginia wrote in a statement to the variety show.
“He is thunder and velvet. The prank is wrapped in tenderness. A poet disguised as a lawbreaker. Father, a son, a brother – engraved in contradiction, suppressed by love left behind.”
