U.S. Attorney General After President Donald Trump calls for swift action Pam Bondi Share that the Justice Department can sentence Iryna Zarutska’s killer to death.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Bondi shared that Zarutska’s alleged murderer, Decarlos Brown Jr., has been arrested and he is being charged in the federal government.
“We have arrested him. We are accusing him in the federal government because it is a mass transport murder case,” Bondy said.
She continued: “As we all captured in the video, this young woman died, a horrible death, it was horrible.”

“These steps are what we charge and then prosecuted. Then, legally speaking, we decide whether to seek the death penalty. Once he is prosecuted for this horrible crime, it must be on the table.”
Zarutska, a 23-year-old refugee from Ukraine, is Being stabbed to death While riding a light rail train in Charlotte. The stabbing captured in the video occurred around 10:30 pm on August 22, Zarutska was on his way home from get off work at Pizza Restaurant. Zarutska still wore her uniform, sitting in front of a man, later known as Brown, in a red hoodie. A moment later, the man took out a knife and stabbed her, and several bystanders watched.
Shortly after the incident, Brown, 34, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Police confirmed that Brown and Zarutska did not know each other.

Brown’s arrests date back to 2011, including felony theft, robbery with dangerous weapons and communicating threats, court records reported by Fox News Digital show. Most of the charges were later dropped.

Trump wrote in a social post of truth: “The animals that violently killed beautiful ladies from Ukraine who came to the United States for peace and security should be given a “quick” (no doubt!) trial, with only the death penalty. No other choice!”
