Just like in the infamous Long Island Railroad case in 1993, convicted killer Colin Ferguson chose to represent himself, even bringing witnesses to question his victims.

Routh pleaded not guilty to federal charges trying to assassinate a major presidential candidate and assault a federal official. Prosecutors say Secret Service agents stopped him near Trump’s golf course, armed with AK-style rifles West Palm Beach September 2024.

The trial is expected to last for weeks, but Trump-appointed judge Aileen Cannon urged both parties to keep the litigation efficient.
