Potential Jury Column is shrinking Ryan Routh’s high-profile federal trial, who faces charges Trying to assassinate President Donald Trump September 2024 at his West Palm Beach Golf Club.

On the second day in Fort Pierce, Florida, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon eliminated a woman who asserted that “I am a magazine” was a potential juror for the trial. Cannon, appointed by Trump, claims the statement showed “professed bias.”

Ryan Routh allegedly hid in a bush outside Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach on September 15, 2024, with the rifle.

Another woman was removed from office as a potential juror, claiming she “followed only the law of God” on the questionnaire.

However, Cannon refused to lay off employees, and the juror claimed he “knows Trump.” Potential jurors claim he was having breakfast with Trump and First Lady Melania Trump while he was considered working on a golf course 25 years ago. But, Cannon said, despite the interactions decades ago, potential jurors were still able to participate in the trial fairly.

Three groups were conducted by 60 potential jurors Jury selection processprosecutors and Rolls asked potential jurors questions to assess whether they could attend the trial fairly. The jury selection process will take place on Monday and is expected to end on Wednesday. Rolls represents himself.

Ultimately, the jury selection process will identify 12 jurors and four alternative trials.

At Monday’s meeting, Routh’s questions about potential jurors included their views on the Gaza war, their potential position in Greenland when the U.S. was likely to gain Greenland when the president surfaced, and how they would act if they drove in the middle of the road and found a turtle.

In response, Cannon tagged them “politically charged” and said they didn’t have to choose a jury.

“There is no aspect to any of the questions on your list. Sir, they are not at the base and have nothing to do with the choice of the jury,” Cannon said.

According to prosecutors, Rolls planned to kill Trump for several weeks and hid in the bush on September 15, 2024, when a Secret Service agent found him pointing a rifle at Trump while the then-presidential candidate played golf. Rous aimed the rifle at the agents, but gave up his weapon and the scene after the Secret Service agent opened fire.

Rolls was later arrested by the sheriff’s office on the I-95 Interstate of the Black Nissan Xterra, Martin County, Florida.
