Ultimately, the jury selection process will identify 12 jurors and four alternative trials.

At Monday’s meeting, Routh’s questions about potential jurors included their views on the Gaza war, their potential position in Greenland when the U.S. was likely to gain Greenland when the president surfaced, and how they would act if they drove in the middle of the road and found a turtle.

In response, Cannon tagged them “politically charged” and said they didn’t have to choose a jury.

“There is no aspect to any of the questions on your list. Sir, they are not at the base and have nothing to do with the choice of the jury,” Cannon said.

According to prosecutors, Rolls planned to kill Trump for several weeks and hid in the bush on September 15, 2024, when a Secret Service agent found him pointing a rifle at Trump while the then-presidential candidate played golf. Rous aimed the rifle at the agents, but gave up his weapon and the scene after the Secret Service agent opened fire.

Rolls was later arrested by the sheriff’s office on the I-95 Interstate of the Black Nissan Xterra, Martin County, Florida.
